The minorities have always faced problem in a nation or country but no one has had the courage to speak up and to take a stand, and when that no one becomes someone, a spark breaks out which turns into the flame and then lighten up the entire nation. The problems have always existed among the minority but that flame was never ignited because no one had the gallantry to lighten up the entire nations. The thing is that there is always a way to shine even in the darkest hours of night only if someone remembers to switch one the lamp.

Earlier there were kings or emperors who served as the leaders of the nation but today there are groups of people who run the state; they are known as the government. There are five main kinds of government. First is the monarchy; in this kind of government the whole power belongs to the king or queen. Second is the dictatorship; in this form the entire power belongs to a person or a group of people. Third is the aristocracy; this is form in which the state is run by the wealthy people and the power belongs to them. The fourth one is the republic in which the people themselves select their leader or representative, who would fulfill their needs and demands. The fifth and the best form of government is the democratic form of government; the best known definition of a democratic government is “the government of the people, from the people and for the people”.

Today in this modern world; when human rights are given such vital importance, there are many countries which do not enjoy the democratic form of government. Among those pernicious and non democratic countries the top 10 are:

10. LIBYA:

There is no permanent bases government in Libya as the country has been going under the mercy of translational government. It is also said that the country runs under the military dictatorship, some say that Libya is an authoritarian state and it is run under the impact of the wealthy people; it doesn’t matter because what matters is that Libya does not enjoys democracy . Libya liberated itself from Italy in December 1951. There are many political parties in Libya but none of them has been able to form a stable and permanent government yet.

Before the World War 2 was started, North Korea was a member of the Japan territory. North Korea was separated from Japan approximately in the year 1945 under the leadership of Kim Il Sung. Sung started his own party with the support of some other workers; the party is known as KWP (Korean worker’s party). Since the independence of North Korea, the power has been in the hands of KWP and Sung family as the positions in the party has kept passing along in the family till now.

The form of government in Jordan is monarchy as the whole power is exercised by the King. There is a whole legislative or cabinet which works under the king, the king also serves as the Army chief. Although the form of government is technically monarchy but the citizens of Jordan enjoy the liberty.

5. SAUDI ARABIA:

Saudi Arabia is one of the rich countries of the world. The system of the government in this state is the Monarchy form of government as the entire power belongs to the King (who has hold on country’s military forces as well). The king has appointed 13 governors for the 13 provinces of the country, but head of the state is the king who governs all the thirteen governors. There is entire cabinet beneath the king to help him and advise him regarding the social and economical issues of the country; the king himself also appoints his second in command, who is known as the Crown Prince; the crown prince is next in line to the throne.

For outsiders the form of government in Turkmenistan is said to the Democratic and presidential form of government but from inside it is mainly authoritarianism; the entire power belongs to the presidential administration. The government is also said to be Republic but the leaders or the representatives barely represent the people, they care for their own benefits.

The form of government in Syria is recorded to be Republic; the government is run by the people themselves. If the act is directed only towards the rouge sites its language must specify them and not just be vague about it. It will also be very unfair to innocent people to pay for the mistakes of few wrongdoers. Acts, laws and bills must be made to punish those at fault and not the common folk who has got no hands in the cyber- crime.

7. The economy will be badly affected

SOPA will have a devastating effect on the economy. Internet is known to contribute a large share in the annual GDP. The internet is known to provide thousands of jobs for people. For example, Facebook apps employ almost 200,000 jobless people. With SOPA being passed large no. of people will lose their job affecting their livelihood. This will lead to high rate of unemployment. This will also stagnate the development rate of the country. Various industries advertise on the internet, SOPA will also have an adverse impact on these industries. This is just the direct impact of SOPA; the indirect impact would also be no less disastrous.

6. Restriction on Education system and Art

The internet is the pool of information. The internet is also the teacher for many. It is the most updated source of information as people are kept aware of even a minute change happening around the world. If SOPA is enacted, the power of information will highly be affected as the information would be under the supervision of certain government organizations. These organizations will keep an eye on each and every update on the internet. This will greatly affect the educationalists and the artists as internet is their one of the important source of information. Their hands will be tied by these government corporations. Various artists would be restricted by the government on not to expose their artistic work on internet.

5. Experts don’t support SOPA

There are many experts who don’t support government bills like SOPA and PIPA. They confidently claim that the enactment of such bills will have great consequences on the technical aspect of the Internet. It becomes an important point to consider as their claim is not vague like the common mass; they have solid reasons and proofs to support their notion. They have asserted that laws like SOPA will lead into the segmentation of the global domain name server (DNS).  This segmentation will make internet unauthenticated and unreliable. They have emphasized that many websites will be blocked on the internet, this will make the internet network biased and people will lose their trust.

4. It gives the government unlimited power to block any website outside SOPA

If SOPA law is passed, his will harm the Democratic concept. This will enormously increase the power of the government. The government would then be able to block any site which is not according to its whims and conditions. Many sites are aimed to be open source, in order to facilitate the flow of information and data to the common people will be culminated by the government. The government doesn’t have deep knowledge about the internal intricate design of the internet, thus being incapable of controlling the whole network.

3. Boundation on Freedom of speech

Freedom of Speech is one of the 6 basic rights given to the citizens of any democratic country and is the most important right. The internet is the only space where people can speak their hearts and mind out. People express their views and feelings openly on any topic, even those related to government in public debates on various internet sites. With the government having the super power of the internet, these sites will face a huge risk of getting blocked. People’s right of speech would also lose its real meaning as they will then be restricted.

2. SOPA will not stop piracy

The main reason behind bringing SOPA into action is because of “online piracy”. The government and those in favor of this bill claim that SOPA will bring down the rates of piracy. This is however not true, as the culprits will find some other way out to carry out their piracy. This act gives the government all the powers to control the websites; however, the wrongdoers will bring out new techniques to fool the government.

1. SOPA will affect the world

Though the SOPA bill, if passed will only be enacted in the United States but its impact would be worldwide. This is because the internet network is global and not just limited within the U.S. boundaries. This will hugely disrupt the flow of information across the world. The basic motive of bringing up internet will then be compromised. Restriction on a few sites in the U.S. will also damage the site’s functionality in other countries as well. This will create widespread  economic  instability.

10. Barack Obama (1961 to Present)

He is the present president of United Sates. He is a very powerful orator and he give speeches with his full capabilities. One of the best speeches he has given is the victory speeches he gave in Chicago. He is the only African-American president of United States. His speech at democratic National Convention 2004 gave him the position in the top orators in the world. The most convincing thing in the speech is not the way he delivers it but the lyricism in the oration.

9. Ronald Reagan (1911 – 2004)

Ronald Regan was also known as The Great Communicator. He was the 40^th United States President. He was also the governor of California. He was also a actor and a television film star. He gave a mesmerizing speech “ Tear Down This Wall”. When he gave speeches on the topic of war he used to be very steady and affirmative and created a deep impact on audience’s mind. His most famous line was “there you go again”. He had a unique ability to connect with people through his speeches. He was able to communicate very effectively with the audience, with the camera and hence earned his title.

8. Martin Luther King Jr.(1929 –1968)

He was born on 15 January 1929. Martin Luther King Jr. gave speeches which showed criticism against racial discrimination and his support for Non-violence. He was a civil right activist. He was very radical in his aspects. “I Have a Dream” is the most famous and inspiring speech he has given. He gave this oration at Abraham Lincoln memorial. In this speech he talked about the racial equality and criticizes racial discrimination. The speech lasted for 17 minutes. He was awarded with Presidential Medal of Freedom in the year 1977 and congressional gold medal in the year 2004.

7. Nelson Mandela (1918 – Present)

Nelson Mandela was the son of tribal chief person and became the president of South Africa from the year 1994 to 1999. He was the activist of militant anti- apartheid and was also the leader of Umkhonto we Sizwe.  He was imprisoned in the year 1962 as he was charged with sabotage and many other charges. He was given a punishment of life imprisonment. He spent 27 years of his life in Jail. He led movement against apartheid in South Africa. His spirit never shook even after spending so many years in jail. His Inaugural speech was very persuasive and inspired the audience. Nelson Mandela is a natural speaker, motivator and a natural leader.

6. John F. Kennedy (1917 – 1963)

John F Kennedy was the thirty fifth president of United States who served from the year 1961 to 1963.  He gave very inspiring and liberal speeches. His speech at the Berlin Wall in the year 1963 was one of his finest orations. This speech was to increase the confidence of the West Berliners who had a fear that they will be conquered by East German. His inauguration speech was so powerful and mesmerizing that people still remember it.  In his speech he spoke on the need for Americans to be active. He said” Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country”. His speeches were full of energy that reflect youthfulness and were much personified.

5. Mohandas Gandhi (1869 –1948) 

Mahatma Gandhi was an influential figure in the history of India. His speeches were very motivational and inspired people to walk on the path of non-violence and fight for their country. The speech he gave during the Quit India movement on 8 August 1942 were to provoke the people to fight against the British rule but the resistance should be Passive and non –violent. The speech was among the best speeches he gave which not only motivated people against British rule but also gave the message of non-violence. Martin Luther King Jr.  also gave speeches that had the topics Mahatma Gandhi focused upon and on e among them is I have a Dream speech that promoted non-violence and equality of races.

4. Winston Churchill (1874 –1965)

When he was young army officer he had a brief stay in India in the year 1897, Winston Churchill wrote a very beautiful line telling about the importance of oration. The line is “ of all the talents bestowed on men, none is so precious as the gift of oratory. He gave very inspiring and famous speeches in the year 1940 during the beginning of the World War II. These speeches made him a very renowned orators ever known in the history. The speech he gave on June 18, 1940 is among his best speeches and it meant to inspire the people and increase their confidence during World War II. During that time Hitler and the nazi empire was a threat to Europe and Winston Churchill in his speeches told about the problems that the Europeans have to face if they came under Hitler.

3. Abraham Lincoln  (1809 –1865)

Abraham Lincoln was a great president of United states and was in position from the year 1861 till the year 1865. He was a self educated man and also became a lawyer.  Lincoln was a true spokesman and he had both the qualities a speaker requires: knowledge and intensity. Lincoln was a person who knew what is he talking about and what he meant  He was known to be the master of statement. His spoke mainly on objections to slavery. Lincoln’s Gettysburg speech in spite of being only three minutes long was a foundation stone of their history of America. His speeches united the nations and set a basis of American optimism.

2. Demosthenes (384–322 BC)

Demosthenes was another orator and statesman of Athens. He came over his stammering problem and began studying the speeches and orations of other Greek orators which included Pericles.  When he gave official orations in Greece he usually warned people in opposition to Phillip who was the king of Macedonia and also the father of Alexander the Great. Macedonian king set out on a mission to conquer Greece.  He gave three very harsh speeches against the Macedonian king which were called as the Philippics and even till date if someone gives an oration against someone the speech is called as Philippic.

1. Pericles (495-429 BC)

At the time of Golden ages, Pericles was a great orator in Greek. He  was a very influential person and was given the title of first man of Athens  He led Athens during 495-429 BC and this period was sometimes called as the period of Pericles. He supported art and literature and because of him Athens is regarded as the center of education and culture of Greece. He also promoted the Athenian democracy and is therefore called as a populist too. He is known to have given a new definition to the public speech in Athens. His funeral oration was renowned because it was actually a speech about the Athens achievements which helped to raise the spirit of war.

[10] Teapot Dome:

In the American Political History, the Teapot Dome scandal is a very popular one and was during the time when Warren G. Harding was the President. Teapot Dome was an oil field situated in Wyoming and used by U.S. Navy. The scandal started as a simple case of bribery. In 1992, the Us Secretary of the Interior, Albert B. Fall was accused of accepting a bribe of $404,000 as gifts from the oil company in return of some rights to them. The Wall Street Journal was the first one to publish about the bribes exposing Fall. In 1927, investigation on the case led to a hearing in Supreme Court, where the judge declared him guilty and sentenced a fine of $100,000 and prison for a year. The President, though not involved in the scandal directly, was criticized about the ineffective monitoring in his cabinet.

[9] Chappaquiddick Scandal:

This scandal is related to Edward M. ‘Ted’ Kennedy. On 18 July, 1969, he attended a party in Massachusetts on Chappaquiddick Island. After the party he left with Mary Jo Kopechne, who was just 29 years old and a specialist of American political campaigning. In the drive to home, the car collided with a bridge and they got drowned. Kennedy is an experienced swimmer and therefore escaped. He explained that couldn’t get her out of the water despite of trying very hard and she ended up dead. No one is yet sure about whether Edward extricated his own self from the car or it was a near death experience for him. He got a suspended jail stay for 2-months and his driver’s licence was extracted for a year.

[8] Jean Tiberi:

He was the mayor of Paris for six complete years and also a member of National Assembly, France. Tiberi and his wife – Xaviere Tiberi, both were accused in some scandals. In 1998, their apartment was searched on the order of a judge and a number of illegal guns were obtained from the place. Again in the year 2005, they did a fraud of registering more than 7000 voters. If you mistakenly characterise Xaviere as a supporting wife, then you must be aware that she was more belligerent out of these two as per the French Press.

[7]Silvio Berlusconi:

He was the Prime Minister, Italy and a cruise ship lounge singer earlier. He has been in limelight for tax frauds and bribery multiple times. He remained in power for almost 17 years. He was a playboy and his friend Libyan allegedly hosted and organised parties with many young women. He was caught with Patrizia D’Addario, who was an escort and gave away that the Prime Minister was his client three times before. In 2011, he was accused of having involved with an underage girl named Noemi Letizia and also a teenage belly-dancer at some nightclub named Karima El Mahroug. In April, 2011, he was summoned by the court to stand trial for hiring a minor as an escort.

[6] Iran-Contra Affair:

Ronald Reagan was a President of America and he announced Iran as part of ‘confederation of Terrorist states’ to American Bar Association on 8 July, 1985. Under his administration, the members were planning to sell Iran the weapons they demand and release US hostages held there in Lebanon by pro-Iranian groups. The profits from selling the weapons were sent to Nicaragua for aiding rebel forces named as Contras. After investing, it was found that the sale was planned and authorized by Robert McFarlane, who was the head of NSC. The President denied his involvement in the scandal and created an investigation team named Special Review Board. The team found him not guilty but his popularity was slumped.

[5]Wilbur Mills:

Mills studied constitutional law at Harvard and was a renowned member of the House of Representatives, US. He joined the House in 1939 served for 18 years till 1977 as the head of Ways and Means committee. He was in an open relationship with Fanne Foxe, who was a stripper from Argentinian. Mills was a married man for 40 years but on October 7, 1974 he was found with Foxe; she was in the back seat of his car and he was drunk and while driving, was stopped by U.S. Park Police. In one incident he was seen with his hands on her shoulder outside Pilgrim Theatre, Boston. These scandals forced him to resign himself from the chairman post of Ways and Means Committee and keep his distance from politics.

[4] Watergate Scandal:

This is again a very popular scandal from Washington D.C. On May 27, 1972, Richard Nixon’s re-elections were in jeopardy. His officials were found breaking in the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee, in the Watergate Hotel. They planted bugs and stole their documents. They revisited the place to fix a bug that stopped working on June 17. A security guard contacted the Washington’s Police when he got hint of the incident and 5 of them were arrested. Nixon claimed that no one from the white house was involved in the break-in but later, some of their videos revealed him and showed that he himself authorized money to them for this Hunt. This made him to resign the presidency and he became the first and only President of US to resign.

[3] Chen Shui-bian:

The Taiwan’s President remained on his post for 8 years since 2000. After that his son-in-law resigned from his party stating alleged insider trading. His reputation was damaged severely that his approval rating were low to 5.8% as reported by China Post. His fall was shocking and he was deceived so badly that there was no looking up again. Later in the same year 2008, his son, daughter-in-law and his wife were accused for misappropriation of the political funds. The President himself was involved in this crime. He was accused for wiring a big amount of $20 million to various bank accounts with fake identities. Both, he and his wife were charged a fine of $15 million and sentenced prison life for 20 years.

[2] John Major:

The Prime Minister of UK was a member of the Conservative Party and this party was defeated in the year 1997 by the Labour Party. This was a result of the Major’s actions. He was the leader of the scandal-plagued association. Many of the party’s minister were the sitting government officials when the report about a big issue. The issue was that the Saddam Hussein owned a company of machine tools in UK named Matrix Churchill during his reign in the 1980s. This company sold weapons and their components to Iraq and this was reported in the year 1996. The report did not mention the prime minister’s name but he was supposedly blamed for being the leader of the party.

[1] Dmitry Medvedev:

The lower house of Parliament in Russia is called State Duma. In the p it has been criticized that President Dmitry Medvedev uses it as his rubber stamp for initiatives. In May 2010, a law was passes from the house related to ‘driving when you are drunk’. This law was passed by 440 votes of total 450 members of the house. But what the climax is that there were only 88 deputies there!! Ren TV news showed a video that the deputies who were present kept running from vacant seats to the remaining vacant seats and presses the voting buttons on the seats of absent deputies. By doing this vacant seat shifting, the deputies were able to vote nine times in those 20 seconds of casting the ballots. The video was uploaded on you-tube and the whole world was able to come across the Russian Parliamentary proceedings.

10. RICHARD BRANSON

Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson is the most interesting, successful and enduring billionaire businessman born in 1950. He is the founder and CEO of a big enterprise ‘Virgin Group’. He started his career at a very early age of 16 through a magazine ‘Student’. From 1972 he launched the chain of Virgin record stores and recording studios and in 1984 he moved into airline industry thus setting up ‘Virgin Atlantic Airways’. He also had fine interest in politics. He has been honored with many awards resent being National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences President’s Merit Award 2012.

Lawrence Larry Page is a co-founder and CEO of Google Inc. who was born on March 26, 1973 in a city of US called Michigan. He enrolled his Ph.D. degree in computer science from Stanford University. He is basically a computer scientist and an internet entrepreneur who did not believe in giving up even at the stage of worst conditions in life. Instead, he proved himself as the best business person and influenced people to develop the ability to fight any challenge. Carlos Slim Helu was born in January 1940 and is known as Mexican Telecommunication Magnate. Carlos Slim Helú studied Civil Engineering at the National Autonomous University of Mexico along with teaching algebra and linear programming. She actually is the 1^st women in India to hold this position. United progressive alliance nominated her name for presidency. She was the 24^th Governor of Rajasthan. Again she was the first women to be that. She was a member of Rajya Sabha during 1985 and 1990. She is a member of Indian National Congress and was elected as a member of parliament in 1991elections. 9) Cristina Elisabet Fernandez de Kircher

She is the first women to be re-elected and the 2^nd women president ever to serve in Argentina. She was born on 19 February 1953. She is the up to date and the 55th President of Argentina. For people she is not only a good president but a fashion icon. She was repeatedly elected to the same post. She is a very active leader and she is a supporter of human rights and heath improvement also.

She was born in 1942 and is a famous politician of Mauritius. Since 2010 she is the president of Mauritius. Before she became the president, she was a journalist and a news reporter on a national TV channel. On 12 November 2012, she was announced as the Vice President when she won the parliamentary elections leaving behind many other candidates. Before, she was simply a member of the Mauritian Labour Party. She became the first women President of her party. Her father Bartholomee Ohsan was the beginner of the party.

6) Slavica Dukic Dejanovic

On 5^th of April 2012, she became the Acting President of Serbia by winning the presidential re-elections on May 2012. She was born on 4 July 1951 in Raca. Standing Action Conference appointed her as the chairman of the League. In 1996, for the very first time she was appointed as the vice-president of SPS. Currently, she is the current Minister of Heath in Serbia. She is the second women to enter the National Assembly of Serbia as a head. She was a member of the Socialist Party of Serbia for a long time since 12 September 1990.

5) Laura Chinchilla Miranda

Laura Chinchilla Miranda was born on 28 March 1959 and on May 8, 2010 she became the first women President of Costa Rica. She won the 2010 general elections for president with 46.76% votes. She opposed any modifications of the constitution of the country meant for the separation of state and church in the country. ‘Morning After Pill’ is forbidden in Costa Rica, she was against the legalization of the Pill. In nature, she is a social conservative. She didn’t actually like the idea of gay marriage but she publicly announced that fundamental rights should be given to same sex couples. 4) Eveline  Widmer-Sclumpf

Mrs. Eveline Widmer-Sclumpf is the president of the Swiss Federal Council of Switzerland for the year 2012. The president was born on 16^th march 1956. In 1981, she earned her law degree at the University of Zurich. She is a Swiss Lawyer. She worked as a lawyer from 1987 to 1998. She is the current President of Brazil. Dilma was born on 14 December 1947 to a Bulgarian entrepreneur. During her youth she was a socialist and was raised in an upper middle class family environment. She joined a committee in 2002 and befriends a presidential candidate Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva who later won the election and appointed her as the Minister of Energy. She was the 1st economist to have the position. She was elected as the 36^th president of Brazil on 31^st October 2010.

2) Joyce Hilda Banda

Joyce Hilda Banda is among the most powerful women in the world. She stands at the 71^st position in the list. She was a politician who became the president of Malawi. She has maintained her presidency since 7 April 2012. The president was born on 12 April 2012. She is the fourth President of Malawi. She remained the vice president of Malawi from May 2009 to April 2012. She was an associate of Children’s Affairs and the founder of the NABW – National Association of Business Women and People’s Party (in 2011). Some other projects that add to her list are the Hunger Project and Young Women Leaders Network. She became the first female vice president of the country and serves the country.

On January 16, 2012 she was appointed as the 24^th President of Liberia. She won the re-election in November 2011 and she became the 1^st elected female Head of State in Africa. In 2011, President Sirleaf got the prestigious Nobel Prize for Peace. She did great work for the betterment of his country and its people including rights of women and the importance of education. She was also appointed as one of co-chairs of a top level panel regarding the 2015 Development Agenda by the United Nations Secretary Agenda. She is the Goodwill Ambassador and is helping for Water, Hygiene and Sanitation problems in Africa.
