Good health is an adorable present for man & he must try his level best to maintain it.  It is the most valued possession of  him and he must take optimal care of it with full  sincerity. These days, because of their busy schedule, people do not have enough time to take care of their health and due to this only they are becoming a syndrome of numerous diseases. But by following these simple steps one can enjoy a healthy and fit life.

10.   MAINTAIN CORRECT  POSTURE  :-

Keep your back straight while sitting or standing. Avoid jerks while bending.    Bend your knees first while picking something frim ground.  This will help in avoiding backaches.

 

9.     BE  HYGENIC  :-

To ensure a disease-free life, follow these simple steps :-

-   Take bath everyday.

-   Wash your hands before and after each meal .

-   Wash hands after getting in contact with a sick or a pet.

-   Use a sanitizer when not in a position of using a soap .

-   Brush twice a day to stay away from oral health problem.

 

8.   QUIT BAD HABITS  :-

Smoking or use of tobacco can result in lungs and oral cancer. It decreases the immunity and can also  results in premature death .  Passive smoking is also injurious, so it should be strictly avoided.  Consumption of alcohol and drugs are also the factors which are responsible for making a person ill.

 

7.   CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE :-

Give importance to small changes which can contribute big in making the life healthy and fit. Avoid having meals while watching T.V or itting in front of computer. Enjoy each meal and avoid over eating. If you cant go to gym then, burn your calories by doing activities like dancing, gardening, etc… Opt for stairs instead of elevators and walk to near by places instead of using a vehicle.

 

6.   START YOUR DAY WITH A HEALTHY BREAKFAST :-

Never skip your breakfast, as it is the most important meal of the day. A healthy breakfast keeps you fit and active throughout the day. Eating breakfast reduces cholesterol and helps you in controlling your weight. Include grains, fiber, proteins and a serving of fruit to make it complete and wholesome.

 

5.  AVOID JUNK FOOD :-

The main reason of obesity, high cholesterol, diabetes and tooth decay is faulty eating habits and consumption of excessive junk food. Sweet, fried, high calorie and low fiber food come in this category, as they are difficult to digest. Frequent consumption of junk food can result in constipation, acidity, acne and laziness. So avoid excessive intake of it .

 

4.  DRINK 8 – 10 glasses of water per day :-

Adequate water intake is important for a body to stay fit. Human body contains 60-65% of water as it is needed to carry out activities like blood circulation, digestion, excretion, detoxification, maintaining body temperature  etc…

Start a day with drinking to glasses of water which ensures   cleaning and flushing of our system.  Liquids like lemonade, soups, juices, etc.. should also be taken.

 

3.  ADEQUATE SLEEP :-

Sleep is must for a healthy body. An adult requires 7-9 hrs whereas a child requires 10-11 hrs of daily sleep. During this time our body repairs the damage cells and tissues, new cells are formed and the brain cells store the data in the memory.

To ensure a sound sleep, eat dinner 2 hrs. before going to bed. A light walk, reading and listening music can also help. Power nap of 30 mins. after lunch is must for a healthy body.

 

2.  EXERCISE DAILY :-

Exercise is an ideal way to burn calories. It strengthen muscles,  ensure proper movements of bones and improves the working of heart. One can choose from exercises like yoga, aerobics, gymnasium, cycling, brisk-walking, etc.. according to their physical state and liking.  Heart patients, senior citizens  and expecting mothers should do soft exercises like pranayam, meditation and simple walking.

 

1.  STRESS MANAGEMENT :-

These days, stress has become the major cause of ill health. It can result in insomnia {sleeplessness}, heart trouble, high blood pressure, digestive disorders and psychological disorders.

For stress reduction, do meditation and pursue a hobby. Spirituality and spending time in the laps of nature can also work. Vacations, taking a day off, weekend outing and sparing an hour or two for oneself everyday can help in fighting the stress away.
