Civil war is a Latin word which is a conflict between two groups or two countries on the other hand it is also fought between the states due to various internal factors. One of the main reason of this war is to take control or take the charge of the other country or region on the other hand it is also fought to achieve independence or to change government policies. Civil War should not be taken as casual war rather it is a high intensified conflict including organized and large scale armed forces.
10. Spanish Civil War
This is again considered to be major war between Second Spanish Republic and a group of generals after the declaration of opposition from the year 1936 to 1939. Rebel group was supported by other small parties on the other hand Spain usually remain alone or divided politically as well as militarily. Thus in the end Spain was defeated by rebel group with the help of other such as Nazi party and from Italy.
9. Crisis of Roman Republic
This is not a actual civil war but can be termed as it was caused due to political instability and social unrest in the period from 134 BC to 44 BC that culminated in the demise of Roman Empire. The cause and nature of war keep on changing depending upon the situation of the Roman such as sometime due to slavery, land reforms and other internal and external riots. Later on it was concluded that the main reason of the war was people legal grievances for their rights.
8. Palestine Civil War
This Palestine war lasted for one year from 1947 to 1948 thus it is divided into two phases. One phase consists of Jewish and Arab communities and second phase include conflict between Arab and Israel due to various reasons. This war started when United Nations General Assembly vote till termination of the British Mandate in the year 1948 only. The first war started between Jewish and arab communities of Palestine clashed and next phase involve Arab and Israeli on the termination of the British mandate for Palestine and for the creation of Israel state.
7. Chinese Civil War
Chinese civil war was party conflict between Chinese Nationalist Party and Community party of china which was started in the year 1927 and lasted till 1950. This war is also referred as Left Vs Right conflict with ideological split and later on people used to term this as War of Liberation or Third internal revolutionary war. Chinese war also include various phases as a result of it causes high amount of destruction and deaths of many people as toll reached 1 million.
6. Social War between Rome and Italy
This civil war is termed as social because it is a war between Rome and Italian allies which was fought during 91- 88 BC. This was considered costly war like American civil war. Its main reason arises to Italians when Romans were not giving equality to Italians as their fundamental right so various Italians allies seceded as a result of that some got and some didn’t. Divided into different allies and headed by one or the other give rise to fight among different tribes and their eagerness to win for their rights end up in large amount of wastage of resources. In the end no doubt Romans gained victory but still various Italians allies got their rights.
5. Cold Harbor Civil War
This war is one of the parts of American Civil war which was fought in the year 1864 at the cold Harbor. This war loss cannot be compensated as this war is considered bloodiest and lopsided battle among American History as thousands of soldiers were killed and wounded and lot of resources was wasted. This was the war between Union Lt. Gen Ulysses and Confederate Gen Robert E Lee for overland campaign. This was the last war of Ulysses and final victory of Lee after so much of bloodshed as Civil War Trust has placed Cold Harbor battlefield among Ten most endangered battlefields.
4. First Battle of Bull Run
This is one of the major first battles of American Civil War also known as First Manassas in the year 1861 in Prince William County, Virginia. Bull Run was considered to be one of the largest and bloodiest battle in America. First battle of Bull Run is depicted in various novels and even in movies mainly its first section. It also appears in first episode of North and South series and in 1993 historical novel Rebel and even become the subject of a song. After going through the account of casualties, total of 489800 people were wounded, captured and dead which declare this war to be bloodiest.
3. Lebanese civil war
Lebanese civil war is considered to be one of the most influential and dreadful conflict due to various reasons whether it is party conflict or political clashes. It is called as multifaceted civil war as this war was divided into various phases from the year 1975 till 1990. First phase from the year 1975 to 1977 has been marked with minor clashes between Lebanese National Movement and government. Second Phase is usually referred as hundred days war which lasted from the year 1977 to 1982 which was fought between Chinese Lebanese Forces and Arab Deterrent Force. Third phase from the year 1983 to 1984 was the was between Israel and Lebanon and fourth phase 1984 to 1990 declare this war as worsening conflict due to political crisis. This civil war estimated total of 120,000 fatalities and 1 million people was wounded fro that time till now there has been mass exodus from Lebanon.
2. Battle of Gettysburg
This battle is considered to be one of the most important and famous civil war marked by the Address which was delivered by Gettysburg President. This is the three hot days battle fought in the year 1863 from July 1 to July 3 in the small town of Pennsylvania, Gettysburg. This was the war between major cities of North and General Robert E. Lee confederate army of Northern Virginia as these major cities were under threat. President words ‘’ Government of the people, by the people, for the people symbolize democracy itself. In the battle of 3 days, between 46000 to 51000 from both the armies were causalities.

American civil war is considered to be one of the famous and bloodiest war which is also known as ‘’ War Between the States’’ as this war is fought over the secession of the confederate states. This war was fought from the year 1861 to 1865 in which 11 southern slave states formed their confederate states of America to abolished slavery and later on called as true industrial wars. The war had 1,030,000 causalities with 620,000 soldier deaths and 50,000 civilians declaring bloodiest war. Various social, economic and racial issues of the war mark reconstruction era.
