We live in an amazing world full of amazing animals and some of them are endangered and a few might actually be extinct. Many species are endangered because of natural predators or human action of getting into their habitats and destroying everything. Unfortunately we don`t know how to value these beautiful animals that were given to us and we don`t protect them most of the time. There are some people with big hearts that take care of these species and help them breed, and this example must be followed by everyone. We should start taking care of animals because most of them are endangered because of our actions. Some species went into extinction and others are almost extinct, and you will see top 10 most endangered animal species:
10. Green-Cheeked Parrot
Green cheeked parrot is one of the most beautiful parrots that have the ability to imitate the human voice. This special talent brought those the birds an extreme threat: people`s wish to have them as pets. Everybody must understand that wild birds should not be held into cages because they are used to flying and their immunity is not strong enough for indoor environment. Wild birds can be more resistant to external diseases, but they get sick if you don`t clean their cage frequently enough.
9. Kakapo Parrot
Kakapo is the heaviest parrot in the whole world and it weighs almost 4 kilograms. You would think that a bird with these sizes doesn`t have any problems with predators, but this bird specie can not fly and it makes the babies very vulnerable to any kind of threats. The Kakapo`s nest is on the ground and many predators induced by humans like cats and rats killed the babies with ease. In 1970`s it was thought that Kakapo`s are extinct but nowadays there remained approximately 150 specimens in the wild.
8. Alligator Snapping Turtle
Alligator Snapping Turtles are one of the biggest freshwater turtles in this world. They got their name from the big force they produce when they bite, because they rip off your finger very easily with just one bite. Even though these turtles seem small and harmless, they are capable of serious damages if you do not pay enough attention. Alligator Snapping Turtles are endangered because they need a long incubation time as babies and they nest 50 feet away from water. After they hatched, the babies are extremely vulnerable to any kind of predators. This turtle needs the optimum conditions to be able of living and breeding.
7. Mako Shark
You would think that a fierce predator like a shark would not have any type of extinction problems. This statement is false because Mako Shark is frequently hunted and sold in Asian markets for his soft and delicious meat and their expensive fins. Some hunters catch them and throw the sharks in water and leave them to die without having the possibility of swimming or defending against any threat. Unfortunately this is another case when humans destroy their natural values just to make some money. Shark meat is very delicious and in some countries from Asia it`s thought that it has healing properties.
6.Chinese Giant Salamander
The biggest amphibian in the world that has up to 6 feet is lead to extinction by humans. Humans used the Chinese Giant Salamander as a food source and this specie has almost disappeared nowadays. Some of this specimens can be founded in streams from China but they are too less to be able to breed. It is hard to believe that we were able to destroy a specimen that lays 500 eggs at once, but the human is the worst predator ever. Chinese Giant Salamander lays 500 eggs at one breed and they are guarded by the male, and even though they are hidden very well humans managed to find them and lead them to extinction.
5. Siberian Tiger
Siberian Tiger is one of the most beautiful and heaviest feline in the world. This beautiful cat that weighs up to 300 kilograms lives in the forests of Russia where it endures temperatures of -50 Celsius degrees and survives those harsh winters. This feline is very big and powerful but humans hunted it so much for its precious fur that there are only a few specimens left in zoos and in the wild. This tiger specie must be helped to recover for its beauty and natural value.
4. Western Lowland Gorilla
Western Lowland Gorilla is the biggest ape in this world and it has been lead to extinction by people and a deadly virus. In forest areas 90 percents of all the western lowland gorillas have been killed by e-bola and many merchants from Africa sell these gorillas as a food source. Another reason of their extinction is their territory loss and they are listed as Critically Endangered. People have the trend to destroy everything is beautiful with their greed for money or with their need for food.
3. Panda
Panda is one of the most beautiful bears on this planet. It has a precious fur which attracted a lot of attention and made panda a big poaching victim. Many people start poaching pandas because they think that is the way to get rich and they don`t consider the value this specie has. It is very beautiful and many tourists come from around the world to see it but the locals think about it as an income. Fortunately this specie has attracted a lot of attention and many zoos in China are trying to help it breed and reduce the risk of extinction.
2. Sturgeon
Sturgeons are some ancient fishes that have a massive weight and produce some of the finest caviar. They are also very expensive so people fish them even though in some countries it is illegal to do such things. Sturgeons also have a tasty meat and they are some of the best fishes for eating. Unfortunately sturgeons can be breed hardly and people fish them to eat some fine meat forgetting that there are only a few specimens left and we must protect them.
1. Amur Leopard
Amur leopard is the most endangered animal specie from the entire world. There are only about 40 specimens left in the wild because this beautiful animal lost his habitat. Humans` actions of road build, logging, and poaching or global climate change decimated this beautiful animal leading it to extinction.
People don`t know how to take care of things that were given to them by God. They frequently forget about beauty and real value in exchange of money or some better roads.
