Currency and economy is the main factor of the expenses while staying at a place. Whenever the currency is strong, economy is great and moreover, this causes a sudden increment in demand which ultimately leads to the increase in rising expenses. For the following section of write-up, I have reviewed for the cities, which have the highest expense rate for the current year. Although, the world has seen a great upheaval in the last few years, these cities emerged out as the most expensive cities of the world. The list for the cities continues as:-
1.) Tokyo – Japan
This is unexpectedly in the list and that too at the top position is Japan. Japan is the most expensive city in the world, because of the rising demand price of products and moreover day by day increasing strength of Japanese Yen. The city has been changed for last 10 years, and now they have shown their form now on being the most expensive one. The list expensive city of world is Pakistan which is only 1-3rd expensive of Japan for the year. On an account the monthly rent for a 2 bedroom flat you got to pay $5000 and I guess this is too much.
2.) Luanda – Angola
This is totally unbelievable to see Luanda at number 2 in the list ahead of many cities like NY, London, LA and to the very fact of it, the city has seen a tremendous growth in last few years after the oil boom, which helped the government to strengthen the basics of the city and making them at number 2 in the list. Although, the living expenses of Luanda is higher than Tokyo but in other instances, Tokyo takes over it.
3.) Osaka – Japan
This is another city of Japan in top 3 being the 3rd most expensive city of the world. It is in fact the most developed commercial city of Japan. Having populated with high density, the demand has naturally increased and with the strong Japanese Yen, the city is boasting of being the most expensive one. Osaka is at number 3 in the list. One an average, the 2 bedroom is allotted for almost $3000 monthly.
4.) Moscow – Russia
This Russian capital city, is the most expensive one in the Russia and secures a spot at number 4 in the list of most expensive cities of the world. However, the city has been spotted with this place for last two years, because of its high economy system and the investment attracted to the city from different investors. The living standards have risen to maximum in the last year as compared to last to last years. It is also known to the home-land of many billionaires of the world.
5.) Geneva – Switzerland
Geneva is the hot favorite tourist spot visited by millions of tourists every year. It has been ranked 5th highest expensive city of the world for the current year. The main reason behind it being a expensive city, is the strong Swiss Franc and being the homeland to many world class organizations including the Hometown for United Nations as well. It is the place for Red Cross, World Trade Organizations as well.
6.) Zurich – Switzerland
This is another city of Swiss country which is at number 6th in the list. It is in fact the hot spot location of the world class infrastructure companies and home to many world class banks including the names like USB, Credit Suisse and many more. Providing the best education, living standard and the most valuable necessities of life, the city is obviously an expensive one. Moreover the strong economy and currency, adds up the demand.
7.) Singapore
As expected, the city has risen up in the list from its position of last year which was 11 in the list of most expensive cities. It is the destination to many Asian traders and investors. Having been in news only because of high estate deals and property business, Singapore is the best location to live in and to enjoy. It is at number 7 in the list for the current year. Although the living expenses are almost similar in Zurich and Singapore.
8.) Ndjamena – Chad
The capital city of Chad, the city has unexpectedly risen and came in to list of top 10 for this year. The basic reason of its being the highest expensive one is the non-availability of the living places here in. Since there is scarcity of living places, so the people pay the as demanded price for the things, which has risen the money and currency standard and living cost in the city, making it the 8th most expensive city of the world. In fact the traders are attracted to the city because of the oil found here.
9.) Hong Kong
This is the only Chinese city or the self-territory of china, which has made to the list of top 10. In fact the city has secured a place in the list because of the rising demand of Chinese Yuen in the market and moreover, being the hot favorite spot for tourists, the city makes its income through business. It is the 2nd highest property making city in the world, which is undoubtedly the reason of it being the expensive one.
10.) Nagoya – Japan
The only auto manufacturing hub of Japan, Nagoya city has made its place in the list at number 10 which makes Japan as one of the most expensive country as well. The city has seen the undisputed growth iin public and private sectors, firms, investments and moreover, the increasing strength of Japanese Yen has further increased the living standards of the city, making much and more expenses enrolled in it.
